Otw designs type ii submarine in 1:32 !!!!!!

I see that the new type II is finally on Bob's site. I have literally been waiting 25 years for this kit to arrive in this scale. Others have one in the works but none will be of this quality. Nice job Bob. A perfect size with just the right amount of detail.

Bob sent me some photos of the Type II about a month ago. This should build out to a very nice model. I'm sure yours will be awesome!

I've been waiting quite a while as well. Must admit that I did have to badger Bob over the course of a bunch of years to do this hull. I think the clincher was offering up my photo-etch deck for inclusion in the kit.

The first hull kit went to SC member Ken Griffin. He's building it as the Finnish Vesikko, which was the pre-war prototype for the Type II boats. Part one of his build will be in the June SCR and we will be making the PDF of the article freely available via the OTW web site.

Here's a relatively recent photo of the Vesikko. She's a museum ship and seems to be kept in very good condition. She's also the only example of the Type II U-boat still in existence.

        -enjoy,

Nope. On a PC browser, and now on an iPad.

Any possibility you'll be offering a later variant conning tower?

Given that way that I did the photo-etch tooling, that would be a very easy thing to accommodate w.r.t. the PE.
