    Dive plane controls

    Because of limited space in the Revell kit, can the dive planes (front and rear) be controled with one servo? I am not 100% sure how the planes work, to go down does the front plane pivot downward and the aft plane pivot upward? How is everyone comming on their conversion or are you all waiting for some one else to do theirs?

    on a model that small,

    on a model that small, I'd forget about controlling both sets of planes. use the bow planes and set up the stern planes to feather on an APC so the boat won't porpoise.

      I would think that it

      I would think that it would be possible, but it might be better to get two micro servos for the dive planes. My problem is how do I get a control arm to fit inside the hull for the stern planes.

        Thanks Guys! I'm still in

        Thanks Guys! I'm still in the thinking/planning stage (at my age the thinking is taking the longest). I felt there was room for a bellcrank in the stern, but have not thought about the rudder controls. Being new to subs what are APC's?

          APC = Automatic Pitch Controller-

          APC = Automatic Pitch Controller- electronice device that controls the stability of the model in a horizontal plane. Keeps the model from "porpoising" up and down erratically while moving forward underwater. Sold by a few vendors, Thor Design and SubTech to name a few.

            He is coming out with a new one very soon that looks pretty impressive. Of course I'm easily impressed, so take it with a grain of salt.
