    Ralph,

Do you mean the MBT Vent valve leaks, or the Schraeder (bicycle) valve that admits gas to blow the tank? If the vent valve, you probably need to replace the silicone tubing "spring" that lives inside the vent valve actuating pivot. If it's the Schraeder valve, you can replace the valve core with a fresh one from the local auto parts store. They sell kits for repairing leaky tire valves, pretty cheap, too.

Good luck! Jim mentored me on my SMW Trafalgar, he knows his stuff!

My issue is the seal on the top of the vent valve. The origianl was rotted out. I have been able to find a replacement that fits. Any suggestions????? Boy I wish Dave Manley was still in business!!!!!!

AH! You mean the o-ring that is superglued in place! Just a case of getting the correct size, Buna-N rubber (NBR) o-ring, cleaning out the seating recess for it and supergluing it in place. That's how Dave put them together! I recently overhauled the SMW cylinder I use in my Marlin, replacing all the seals, including the 2 back-to-back, glued together o-rings on the blow/vent valve servo shaft. In that case, I used 2 quad-rings for better 2-way sealing.

        Good luck!

From the Oringstore.com? And what circumference did you use?

Farlan, I have found a good assortment of small o-rings at the Home Depot or even more at Lowes.
Usually I find them hanging in small plastic packages on the wall in the plumbing section.

I don't remember exactly. I'd have to tear Marlin apart to measure them up. Any decent hardware store, auto chain, or DIY place ('depot, Lowe's, etc.) has them. I do recall that the ID was 1/8" (which is a nominal figure) and I believe the OD was 1/4", making the cross-section 1/16". Again, these are nominals, as the manufacturer's have a pretty fair tolerance on the dimensions.
              Good Luck,
