    Winter is coming.....

There's a chill in the air already. Winter will soon be upon us.

What's everyone got planned for their winter project?

I think I'm going to go the target route and finally finish building the 1/150 Hanseatic cruise liner from Alex's Kits.

I've started building a larger version of my Delphin, at 27" long, enough to get a full wtc in. Still fairing out the hull...

II currently have two works in progress. The older one is a 1/6th scale model kit from Legend Model Boats of the 16' Garwood Speedster; it's being modified into a Baby Dart 16' runabout. The newer project is a 1/96th scale AVENGER Class Mine Counter Measures Ship, being converted into a modern day Corvette/Offshore Patrol Vessel. Both models are operational at this time. I'll be taking the AVENGER to the Rocky Mount, NC 1/86th scale Fleet Run, Oct 12-14. Those should get me through the end of this year.

After that, I'll have to pick something off my backlog of fiberglass hulls or kits. Here's the list with the oldest one first and the newest one last, and manufacturer.

USCG 327' WHEC in 1/96th scale, Scale Shipyard Hull
USCG 44' MLB in 1/32nd scale, MicroGlass Hull
EDMUND J. MORAN, 1/48th scale tug, Scale Shipyard semi kit
105' WT Tug, 1/96th scale, Scale Shipyard hull
USCGC VIGOROUS (WMEC 627) in 1/48th scale. Coast Guard Models hull
USCG 40' UTB and 25' MSB in 1/32nd scale, MicroGlass hulls
USCG 95' Patrol Boat in 1/32nd scale. MicroGlass
110' WWII Sub Chaser in 1/32nd scale, MicroGlass
USCG 47' MLB in 1/32nd scale, MicroGlass
Lobster Boat hull 21" LOA form MicroGlass
German Launch, PBR, and 26' Motor Whale boat in 1/32nd scale, MicroGlass hulls
      9" tug hull from MicroGlass
C-2 Freighter from Hartman Model Boats/Loyalhanna Dockyard
45' ST Tug in 1/24th scale from MicroGlass
      Revell Type IXC U-boat

A few pictures of the MCM/OPV.

I have two builds I'm getting back to now that my summer must fixes are done (enough). The Balao is a priority followed by my Lindberg Blue Devil that I've already started. Once the Blue Devil is done I'd like to move onto building a camera boat out of the Revell 1/72 Flower class corvette kit I have.

Revell 1/72 Gato with an Iron Bottom Sound resin tower/sail, a 5/25 deck gun, and a different limber hole pattern (I have a pattern for USS Ling). So it's more of a bash. I have a thread here about it.

My freezer doesn't even look like that.

                    It is cooling down though.
                    Today's high in upper 70s.

I'm planning to finally have a go at building the CSS Pioneer using Nigel Edmond's grp mouldings.
