I found this company R&R and their piston-tank systems. I have tought the same about to have the rod rotating to push/pull the piston, but never found a way to make it water/air-tight where the rod goes through the piston. The Engel-system feel alot more reliable?
Not sure what magic part Ron uses for his piston center seal but I assure you it works. I have one of these on the bench for an upcoming build and I'll take a look later. Hopefully someone will chime in with a better explanation. Ron is a legend in the RC sub community and builds really terrific and clever "kit" as they call it on their side of the pond.
