    Nautilus Drydocks Los Angeles/Virginia

    Hi,

Is there anyone here on Subcommittee who have built one of these "mixed media kits"?
They look very interesting, but I wonder about pvc-tubing...

    Best regards

I'm seriously considering one, and following up with a SCR article on how it goes.

Check Bob Martin's YouTube page. He did a review of the Kilo from this manufacturer.

I've reviewed the Kilo, and have his new Virginia coming in the next couple of weeks.

My honest opinion is that if you've got the time and skill to clean up the striations in the printed parts, these are very good kits. For the 3D printed parts, you can either sand by hand, or mix up a thinned batch of epoxy and paint the parts with it, resulting in a smooth finish.

The kits are very well engineered. The fact that he's offering boats that don't have readily available offerings on the market right now make them a great choice for anyone interested in these subjects.

Thanks Bob, they looks great. Do the OTW dive-system fit in these kits?

The center tube section is 33" long and 5.5" OD. Lots of room in there for a 3.5" cylinder. The 4.25" unit would technically fit, but you'd have zero room for foam or ballast. You could likely install those in the tail and nose, but it would make trimming trickier.

I should be getting my first kit from him in the next week or so. I'll post up a review on this kit as well once I have it in hand.
