    I don't need a bigger boat, I have one.

Introducing the latest to my 1:48 Scale Fleet......
    USS KEY WEST SSN-722
Currently a Flight 3 DeBoer Hull so I'll be modifying her to the Flight 2 688 Class.
    LOA 98" BEAM 8-1/4"
Coming 2019 to a pond near you.......

Here are some pic's, but I'll try add the following link too. If that works for you, you can follow along as the build progresses.

    SSN-722

Can't wait to see this in the water! She'll put up a significant wake, for sure!

A beast is exactly the description that went through my mind too!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Is that a Ray Mason Nautilus hanging on the wall?

                        Yes Bob...yes it is lol

One of his original hulls. A bit warped, so when Ray is done with some projects he plans to help me reshape it. Everything else is ready.

Right now she comes in at ~26lbs, say two 12V 7Ah @ 12lbs, add another 10 for the equipment so her dry weight should come in around the weight of a cement bag.

I find moving her around the house more cumbersome than tiring. Really have to watch it swinging around as you maneuver lol! My Launch-Haul system at the lake will handle water draining during retrieve. When I used it with the 591 at Groton, they all called it cheating!
