What will we see in 2018?

Time to ask what we will see join the submarine fleet in 2018.... What will you be launching in the coming year?

Me personally, I'm hoping to get off the shelf and into the water either a Subwork's 1/72 Los Angeles or a 32nd Parallel Ohio. Or both.

Just started working on a new 'biologic' sub, a green sea turtle withwire controlled animatronic style flippers and head. Should freak out the fishermen af the pond!

I've got a Revell Type VII C/41 almost finished, working on the final painting and details, then ballast and flotation. I've been working on a mahogany runabout for a few years that I hope to finish by spring time. A few other targets that I'm researching parts and plans are a USCG 327' WHEC and an AVENGER Class MCM. The 327' WHEC may end up being CGC INGHAM which sunk the U-626, apparently with one depth charge. The INGHAM was the only cutter to be awarded two Presidential Unit Citations. The WHEC and MCM are both 1/96th scale; I hope to have one somewhat operational by next years fleet run in Rocky Mount, NC in October.

This year I have built 2 submarines.
Well, I built 1 and completely rebuilt 1.

Currently, I am back to work on the ALMA scow schooner. (started back in 07 0r 08. 07 is my guess)

Overall length 44" with a beam of 11.25".

            Making sails.
Main is complete and about half way on the stay sail.
Making the edge hems with stress cable inside.
Will finish it today and the jib tomorrow.

I do have a Revell Gato and VII unbuilt in the boxes to do when I get time.

I have a Revell Type IX to finish, a Akula to get running, and a Seaview to resurrect! Oh, and the Blueback calling my name, a Type 7 like forever on the build list and another Gato I want to build. Sheesh.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Curious as to which Akula you are referring to.

It is Engle's Akula K-317 that I have.

When it becomes available, I want to build a precision pattern 1/96 Sturgeon. It will be finished as the USS Flying Fish SSN 673. As far as targets I'd also like to build a 1/96th USS Johnston, one of the Fletcher class destroyers that fought in the battle off Samar.

I will be putting together a cylinder and getting the big Type VII running that I purchased from Jim's wife. Also, need to get a 1/72 scale Charlie running.
