I like this small company: http://www.led-switch.com
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I've had great results with Evans Design/Model Train Software. I used some of the 3mm and chip LED's in my USS MARLIN and Nemo's NAUTILUS. I also used the chip LED's in a small tug. I used the LED's pre-wired for battery power, with their 9V connector and switch. I think Larry Kunz of the 8*Balls used the same supplier for the LED's on his Lindberg Chris Craft Constellation model.

I have used these guys in the past for my Constellation surface boat. Fast delivery. They are surface mount chip LED's that they have attached wires to. You will not believe how small they go. They are very bright. See my post on surface targets a year or so ago. I'll attach a photo off the site page if it works. Check out this link below.

Thanks, Larry. I found exactly what I needed on the site. I like how you can customize some things there as well.

WOW, I just looked at the pre-wired SMD LEDs! Worth it just to avoid soldering them myself! Thank you for the link Larry.

You guys are welcome. I set up the LED's on my bench and powered them thru a resistor box. This way I could get the red and green about the same brightness. I run them off the 5 volt BEC on the Mtronics ESC and this way I do not see any dimming when I punch the throttle. I used warm white for the top light and the spot light as they looked a little more like incandescent lights. I found the green to be very efficient and, if i remember correctly, I ended up putting 1 ma. through it compared to 4 or 5 ma. for the red. A word to the wise, they are small and fragile so handle with care.
