New HP fire monitor for Toot.

Most of you old timers have heard of my Toot logging tug.
I scratch built it to be a rescue tug with lots of power for its size.
It has gone through many different retrofits from a 2HP motor, to a fire monitor, sound chip, and tooter.
I retired the tug from a tug pulling and put in a smaller motor.
It is now a trusty rescue boat again.
But I can't leave well enough alone and have aquired a high pressure water pump and some carwash high pressure spray nozzles. And the high pressure plumbing to go with it.
My plan it to try and fit all this into little Toot.
My Washtech expert thinks I can get 20 plus feet of range with the fire monitor/water cannon. Lol
The pump motor is larger than the drive motor.
My eyeball says it will fit but time will tell. BDClick image for larger version

Jim Wheeler has a tug with a working fire monitor on it. Not sure how far it reaches.....but it sounds like we need to arrange a contest!

      Kinda like a peeing contest?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

My original pump and monitor would shoot 10' on a good day.
I tried to install a Rule pump but it would not self prime.
This new one is a Flow-Tech RV type pump.
I have a 50/50 chance of getting it to work.
But for me the fun is in the trying. BD

I was able to get the pump and tubing inside.
I have not tested the system yet in the boat as the RTV sealant is still setting up.
I did test the pump out of the boat and it works great.
The testing will be done with my original water cannon.
I still have to make adapters to mount the new nozzles I aquired.
The pump will actually sit a little further foreword.
With the heavy weight of the pump in the bow I will most likely have to reballast the boat. BD
