New Engel Akula

Just got an email from Engel about their new Akula kit:

For 698 euros you get a pretty complete kit of parts plus a painted hull with the bayonet rings installed.

I saw that, too. The kit looks great, but I can't help but feel that the hull itself might be injection molded versus fiberglass (I haven't read through their page in detail, this is just based on the pictures). The scribing looks over-deep and over-wide. Still, for what you get, that's not a bad deal at all.

The hull is rotary molded ABS.

Sounds like it's in a similar vein to the 212 kit.

Good catch...hull is 2mm thick ABS plastic...I prefer my Engel Lafayette/fiberglass hull!
