Using a pair of universal joints per shaft would provide you the best installation arrangement. It means that you do not need to fuss with getting the motor and prop shafts to align, the two u-joints take care of any misalignment.
Here's one of my U-boats showing the pairs of u-joints.
This (also) means that it will also operate much smoother than Dubro dogbones...no slop and chatter.
I use Dog Bones.
I use two brass bushings.
One as a forward thrust bearing which is mounted in the bask of the tail cone which the propeller push against.
A second one forward mounted on a stand with a cross frame pieces to hold the bearing centered in the hull and the back of the Dog Bone push against this bearing when the motor is in reverse.
I like that the dog bone required no tools to remove the cylinder.
Just a slip fit.
Still requires tool to disconnect the rear controls.

2. Periscope up and down winch.
3. Sail planes push rod.
4. Propeller shaft.
5. Masts up and down winch.
6. Rear planes in and out push rod.
