    Pitch controller

Can someone tell me who would be a good source of pitch controllers. I already have an AL5 unit in my type IX D2 but I am gathering bits and pieces for my Bronco build. I have heard that Subtech have closed down so another supplier would be great or anyone who has old stock of AL5 units.

There are two that I know of off the top of my head, Sub-Driver.com and Microgyros.com
    Here is Sub-Driver:

    And Microgyros:
The site is down, but you can email Mike Stothers at info@microgyros.com

Engel might have one, but I could not find it. Oh I found this one too: http://www.modelluboot.de

    Hope this helps.
    Peace,
    Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

OTW offers one as well. It allows adjustment by flashing a light at it.....quite cool!

The SubTech APC product is now owned by Precision Pattern...not sure of availability.

Jeff, I think OTW is a relabel of MicroGyros unit. Which also uses a flashlight (or torch if you are on that side of the pond). That being said, it is another source!

Mike's Subworks sells their UPC-1 which was a nice little unit. Although I see their site says the are currently out of stock.

Engel offers several pitch controls, all of which show to be in stock on their site. Look under Sub Componants in the menu. Or click here: http://www.engel-modellbau.eu/catalo...php?cPath=2_87. Their customer service is excellent.
          Warm regards,

I'm going to be using Engel's LTR6. Works great in powered testing. Works better with the LCD box, but you'll need to have the german translations on had for adjustments. I have a spare SubTech ADC1 if it helps.

I've seen one or two of these combined pitch and depth controllers, and the owners of them tend to end up disconnecting the depth controller and using them solely as a leveller. Most modellers find that adequate, especially if the craft has a good hull shape and hydroplane arrangement.

I recommend the microgyros, because they offer a very high spec and they are the cheapest by a long shot.

This is a great list! Thank you Tim for posting those links.

I am now the owner of Subtech. We are working to re-release all of the excellent line of electronics and accessories that were recognized as the best available. The APC-5 will be the first circuit to be released. A new website is under construction and you should be able to order soon at www.subtechrc.com
                      Regards,

                      Matt

Don't think anyone has mentioned yet that the LTR-6 from Engel has one other outstanding feature; you can switch mode remotely which allows you to turn the leveling function off completely (for reversing or running your X-tail on the surface) or select current depth hold or pre determined depth hold. Quite neat.

I did, but it's out of stock and rather expensive. It's also pretty big compared to some other offerings.

You can switch the levelling function off on the microgyros too.
