    U 2513 USN conversion

I pulled my old Robbe U2540 out of the attic for a major re-fit! She will receive : new equipment tray, bayonet locking rings, update to the Engle 750 ml piston tank (proportional control), Brushless motors/speed controls, and LiPo batteries. In addition to all that, I will modify the boat to emulate U2513 as she appeared in USN service in the late 40's. More pics to follow...

The previous pics show my progress in modifying the sail... Here are some shots of U2513 herself under the US Ensign...

Here a few "before" shots for later comparison... You can see the damage to the hull from 5 moves (including one from CA to TX). the stern will need extensive re-work as well as the bow section to "scale up" the stock robbe hull. I have the Anatomy of the Ship Type XXI U Boat and Vom Originall zum Modell Uboottyp XXI although neither cover this configuration very well s I will be working mainly from photos.

Thanks Matt, Working on a degree really took all of my time... I am down to thesis work now, for my Masters (so I have some breathing room) I figure a re-build is a good way to get ones feet wet again! I am still looking forward to building one of your S-Boats someday...
