Nautilus from the ABC series - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Another little side project of mine.

This model is right around 17.25" in length and comes from the ABC miniseries with Michael Caine.

The same friend who worked with me on SeaQuest also managed to secure the rights to development of a kit of this great model from the model builders out of Australia before they went out of business. In terms of design, it really is one of the most unique, if impractical ones out there.

This was really just a test print and I need to tweak some of the details to make them stand up to the scale better such as the teeth and fins, but overall I'm really happy with how this came out.

I'll likely be offering this for sale in kit form within the next 30 days or so (crossing fingers). Rather than going the mold/casting route, I'll probably sell 3D printed parts from Shapeways or other professional printing service due to the complexity of the parts.

    Stay tuned here for more!

Scott, no, I'd say there are about a dozen pieces or so. It goes together much like a model kit would. ..
