    Submarine707 Project

For those of you who don't watch Anime this boat is based on the Anime version of this subject. Submarine707.

I am officially starting a thread here. I already have one of the same type on the SubPirates forum, but since not everyone is over there and I happen to be on both, for the rest of you here it is. I hope you like as much as I do. There are well over 10 different types of subs in this movie, but only about 4 of them have any significant air time. I will be focusing on 3 of them: The 707II, the UX-1, and the Juniors which are minisubs with forward mounted props.

I should mention that I have already finished work on the first two phases of two of these subs. Phase one being the blue prints, phase two being the 3d build. I should also mention that two of them were build in 3d from blue prints I made and will when I have the money be printed in 3d in a rigid plastic. The other sub, the UX, is a lost foam method build. I have listed my two completed boats for sale here on the SC forum under new product announcements for those of you interested in buying one or both. I will not be making the UX for sale since it will be a one off and fiberglass. I made it in fiberglass because of it's size. It has an 8 inch beam, whereas the 707 and Junior have less than a 4 inch beam each. The 707 is 22 inches long and the junior is 12 inches long perfect as a dynamic diver.

    Stay tuned.

Here's the 3d build for the 707 and the Junior.

It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do here. So here we go. I am currently at work on about three active sub project. The 707II has been completed and sold and it now on the back burner for improvements to the hull shape.

I am also building a Type23 by Bronco, a 1/69 Master Replicas Nautilus for static display, and the UX one off which will be a two part build. The first part is about a 1/3 done with the foam plug. Pictures to be added. The second half will be the external parts all 3d printed and probably molded and cast for strength and longevity.

Here's a link to the 707 after it was completed and I was attempting to trim it. I didn't know at this time you are supposed to trim for under water running first. Ah live N learn eh.

RC Submarine707R float test for trimming while surfaced. This is the Anime version of the submarine707II.

I don't, be that right or wrong. Here's my take on trimming a sub, in detail: http://www.rc-submarine.com/#!Three-...f293b1a4c70e7f

                  The 707 Junior in Rhino3d

So I originally built this model in 3ds Max, but put it on hold to focus on the 707, then moved on as I had also decided that I just wanted to build it in Rhino, but as Rhino for Mac was in development for 5 years with little support, I was forced to wait for it's release. I now have it and am loving it!

Some progress on the 707II and the Junior Minisub. I prefer to show these in illustration mode in Rhino becasue it really shows lines well and I love the illustrated look. I am planning on building new blue prints off these builds also for sale.

I still can't believe how fast this has gotten done using Rhino for Mac.

Speed and accuracy on Rhino is directly proportional to the skill of the operator!
