Hi Guys,
I just wanted to show you a cool/tool I just made.
It is a Moto-tool/Prop tester.
I saw one of these at one of the Subregattas about 6 years ago. This guy was selling them as a rotory tool. It had a nice feel to it and I liked the design.
I had thought about building my own but never did till the other day when I needed a drive unit to test props in the water. I thought of the tool and decided it would make a good tester as well as a rotory tool.
I had an old Dremil Freewheeler with a dead battery so I canabilized it and used some of the parts to make the tool.
It seems to work very well. I have a little vibration but not to bad. One of the first things I did was test an impeller that I just molded up for my good friend and fellow 8-ball Crazy Ivan using his master.
Crazy will be making his own PJ (Pump Jet) for use in projects like the Seaview kit. (If it ever gets here)
. I made a simple PJ unit to house the impeller for testing. CI will be happy to hear that the impeller pushes a serious amount of water.
Well done my friend!!
I think this will make a nice addition to my Dockyard tool box. BD.
