    Question:O ring Sizes

So I was wondering how to measure the O rings?
do you just lay one out and measure it or is there some special way
I have a 3 " tube and need to find a supply of O rings
    Any help?
    Thanks

    Jack,

O-rings are usually measured by their ID and width (of the material itself)....meaning that the OD would equal the ID + twice the width.

If you would like to understand how to select the correct size o-ring for a given application, check out this excellent document from Parker Hannifin:

    http://www.parker.com/literature/ORD%20 ... ndbook.pdf

...more than we'll ever need to know about o-rings!

It is a big document. Ignore most of it..just focus on the size determination parts.
