I am building several of the 1:72 Revell submarine models and am wondering what techniques would be recommended to restore rivet detail after resurfacing or repairing areas of the injection molded parts. Thanks.

Re: Restoring Rivet Detail
I have played around a bit, but with larger scale models.
what worked for me was yarn soaked in CA (or even woodglue) for weld seams, and
applying thick glue with toothpics for individual rivets. but that depends on the glue used.
some shrivel quite a bit others do not.
try it on a bit of scrap first, and be sure to paint it over on the real model,
just to be sure the water will not ruin it.
I also once bought a model tank (1/35th scale) and transplanted it's rivets.
But that was just a sign of my advanced state of modellitis at the time.
please post a picture of whatever works for you (and even of
problems hit and lessons learned, others will thank you for it)
Regards,
Ronald

Re: Restoring Rivet Detail
Matt is correct......Archer Fine Transfers has a line of dry transfer rivets of different sizes. I have used thme for years wuite successfully on various U-boat models.
ATF has an ad in the September SCR...please check them out and let them know where you found them!
