    Dubros collars - modifications?

I am sure someone has found a way around this.
The often used Dubros collars set screws rust in water. Does anyone have a line on stainless screws to replace them?

    Search for "set screws" on

Search for "set screws" on the McMaster site and the page that comes up will have ones in stainless steel. I also saw that they have some non-metallic set screws too.

    Hope this helps,
    Jonathan

              ...depends on which collars. But

...depends on which collars. But 4-40 is one of the sizes.

                6-32 is also another possibility.

This might be a dum question but, how does one measure size and thread of a screw that small?

                    The 1/8-inch DuBro collars take

The 1/8-inch DuBro collars take a 4-40 set screw. The larger ones take a 6-32.....

                    -Jeff

p.s. one would measure the size of a screw with a thread gauge.

                      One usually uses a thread

One usually uses a thread gauge to measure the thread. Another is trying to screw a nut of a known thread size onto it. Another is to tap a hole the size you want in a piece of scrap and try the screw. These are just a few ways to find your thread size.
I buy ss set screws locally at Fastenal. If they don't have them they will get them for you the next day. They also carry O rings of all sizes for use on subs/wtc's , very reasonable prices.

                          Guys, I found these set

Guys, I found these set screws in stainless at my local Home Depot last week. The smallest they had were 6-32, but they had them in various lengths. They come two to a small bag and can be found in the small item cabinets (drawers) in the fastener section.
