I am sure someone has found a way around this.
The often used Dubros collars set screws rust in water. Does anyone have a line on stainless screws to replace them?
Search for "set screws" on the McMaster site and the page that comes up will have ones in stainless steel. I also saw that they have some non-metallic set screws too.
One usually uses a thread gauge to measure the thread. Another is trying to screw a nut of a known thread size onto it. Another is to tap a hole the size you want in a piece of scrap and try the screw. These are just a few ways to find your thread size.
I buy ss set screws locally at Fastenal. If they don't have them they will get them for you the next day. They also carry O rings of all sizes for use on subs/wtc's , very reasonable prices.

Try Micro Fasteners. Their web site is www.microfasteners.com. Their phone number is 1-800-892-6917. They are great to deal with and provide quick shipping.
Guys, I found these set screws in stainless at my local Home Depot last week. The smallest they had were 6-32, but they had them in various lengths. They come two to a small bag and can be found in the small item cabinets (drawers) in the fastener section.
