    Repair Question

OK guys. Put your thinking caps on.
I am looking for ideas on how to rebend the plastic deck on my newly aquired future project.
After 55 years of existence the deck has warped on my Barracuda sub. It was a common problem.
I would like to get it close to the original shape.
I have a few ideas but I would like to know if anybody has a plan.
I will take a photo of it.
It is fairly flexible but not rubbery.
    Any questions please ask. BD.

BD-any idea as to what type of plastic it might be? Was is vacuum formed or injection molded?
    Regards,

    Matt

        Hi Matt
I am pretty sure it was injection molded.
        Most likely Styrene. BD

Hit it with a hammer! That'll fix any old sub up!

What I would suggest is to load the part up lightly so it twists back toward the direction you want it to move and apply a small amount of heat to it. Just enough to where it is warm to the touch. Too much will ruin the part. A light bulb in close proximity for several hours should do it. Constrain the part's shape or it will deform.
            Regards,

            Matt
