    White Metal Fittings

Greetings from the great white north.

I heard that before one paints white metal fittings, you should wash them in an acid solution. Can anyone tell me what type of acid one should use and for how long?

    Cheers!

    Yes radio shack cat. no

Yes radio shack cat. no 276-1535a PCB etchant solution
aka ferric chloride. you only need to dip the parts in it for 30 or 40 seconds! then put them in a bath of water & baking soda to stop the etching. they should be a medium to dark gray in color let dry and paint
