Gentlemen,
I apologize for posting this question. Remember a few years back when Jim Butts offered a piece of concrete from a U-boat Pen as a membership gift??? I have searched the internet till I'm blue in the face, and I can't find it. A few years ago I received a piece of the Berlin Wall as a Christmas present. It's framed and hanging on the wall in my library along with the documentation of athenticity. That was a perfect gift for an old WWII collector like myself. In addition, I have pieces of the deck of the U.S. Battleship North Carolina, and the U. S. Aircraft Carrier Yorktown.
I have had an interest in U-boats for many years now and have a mostly completed OTW Type VIIc 1/32 scale radio controlled U-boat which I have been working on for the past two years. To make a long story short... Is there a gift shop at any of the U-boat Pens where they sell a piece of the concrete that was broken loose during the Allied bombings... How did Jim Butts, or the Subcommittee, come about obtaining this item? Is there any possibility of obtaining additional pieces? I would like to frame a piece of the concrete from a U-boat Pen and hang it on the wall above the display table for my U-boat (U-96 Das Boot). U-96 will be docked on the display table in my library when it's not on patrol.
Regards,
