Ive read a few threads about the sushi sub and seen some of the amazing things that it does and its caused me to ask some questions to one of my favorite aircraft motor companies. The engines ive seen them produce are nothing short of insane. So i asked myself what would happpen if we put one in a sushi sub?
Here is the conversation im havin right now via email. Maybe you guys can offer more answers to his questions then i can.
"I put a large outrunner that weighs 10 oz’s in a gas plane the other day. On 18.5 volts it pulled 56 amps and ran a huge 13x6 gas prop 10,000 RPM.
You’ll need to walk me through what size is appropriate, batteries you’ll use, desired RPM, kind of resistance you expect in a prop underwater, size of prop and actually I would not be able to relate the RPM and prop size of a boat to anything I know. So not sure I could set you up – but you could tell me what you need, if you know what Kv to expect, amps and such ?
Is there something I can setup to test boat props on motors ? Where do I get everything – yada yada. I’m seriously out of my element with boats. I’m pretty sure we could make a major bubble around your pond though. Hope you’ll have GPS in it."
