The following financial considerations of moving SuBase New London were presented by Connecticut-area politicians and businessmen.

Essentially the US Navy has underestimated the projected costs and overestimated the savings. [No big surprise.]
The DoD has a long history of [grossly] underestimating the costs of cleanup of military bases and underestimated the numbers of unusable acres of land left in perpetuity.
