HIGH TECH WRECK IMAGING/SENSING - Biber Torpedoed ship removed

This URL gives you only a semi-recent review of the massive salvage work that was done in the SW corner of the Netherlands in the Westerschelde estuary leading to Antwep. The best part of this in English website is the review of wreck and underwater imaging and sensing technologies.

Once there, click onto "Technologies" and later return to the first page and click onto "Planning."

    THE TORPEDOED FREIGHTER
The Alan-A-Dale was a 4,702 ton freighter sunk dec 44 by a Biber German midget u-boot. As a major channel improvement in the area leading to Antwerp, in SW Netherlands this ship was finally removed in July 2003.

    Somewhat more recent info.
Should you be interested in this ship there is a photo of it (when it was named the Nordvest).

and there is a map showing the location of its sinking.
