I am Krunal Gajjar. New to forum. First of all I would like to say thank for considering my request for membership.

I am in to ship modelling in to since last 14 years and would like to step up in SUB. Looking for support from friends. I belongs to INDIA and have very limited resources into submarine hobby. So looking for help from other forum members. Can any one guide me from where can i start?

I want to build it from scratch. So if any detail plan for hull and dive mechanism available then please guide.

Firstly, Welcome!

So what kind of sub are you looking to build and what kind of operation do you want out of it? Subcommittee has quite a few sub 101 and subs for dummies tutorials. There are two ways to dive a boat, dynamic and static. Dynamic uses the forward momentum of the sub to force it under and static uses a ballast system to dive. Dynamic subs will return to the surface when the motor stops working, but static boats don't. The second thing is that you need know what is going to be in the water tight compartment which will determine how big the water tight compartment (WTC) will be. Most model subs use a clear lexan tube for the WTC but some like the Engel's Typhoon use a water tight "deck" that's actually part of the boat. I'd suggest checking out the vender's page of the forum to get an idea of what parts are out there to get. I'm currently working on a OSCAR II kit that was made by a member, but my WTC is a modified version of the one for Engel's Typhoon (which I'll be working on later), my ballast system is Engel's TAS2 piston tank system along with their LTR6 pitch control system. Both the TAE2 and the LTR6 have failsafes. I'm also using their motor setup that is used on their Typhoon, but I'm using Mtroniks ESCs, Graupner prop shafts, and a lot of control components, seals, and boots from RC Sub Workshop. The OSCAR will have a lot in it and this setup isn't by any means cheap, but it is a larger kit and it has the room for all of it. As for plans, it really depends on what sub you want to build. Some are really easy to find, some are incorrect, some are for the real sub that need to be converted to scale, and others are classified and people use whatever photos are available to go off of, but the same goes for some subs from WWII who's designs were lost to time.

Some people like Gwen (http://www.subcommittee.com/phpBB3/v...p?f=35&t=12358) are building subs out of all metal, others use fiberglass, and the rest use plastic or resin.

When I started I went with a off the shelf dynamic dive boat because it is the most forgiving and now I've moved up to a static boat that I'm building. Keep in mind that 2.4gHz DOES NOT WORK UNDER WATER. FM and AM can penetrate water but you need to know what the broadcast laws are for those bands. 2.4gHz can't penetrate water so as soon as the antenna goes under you loose contact.
