White Ensign Models will cease business after Friday

Hi Folks,

I have sad news to tell.
I found this news headline on the WEM site https://www.whiteensignmodels.com/]SADLY WHITE ENSIGN MODELS WILL CLOSE IT'S DOORS ON FRIDAY 28TH NOVEMBER, SO IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, ORDER BEFORE THEN!

And there is a similar message on their facebook page]https://www.facebook.com/pages/White-En ... 405?ref=ts

In addition to kits and great paints, they had a whole line of great custom made photo etch Products for such products as the Revell Gato in 1/72 scale.

But, too much money going out, not enough coming in. AKA why you need to support the hobby vendors…

Well, the website now states that "TOM'S MODELWORKS HAS PURCHASED THE ENTIRE STOCK OF WEM KITS, PHOTOETCH, AND RESIN PARTS, PLUS THE RIGHT TO CONTINUE PRODUCTION, AND THE WHITE ENSIGN MODELS NAME.".

Great news!

In what sense? That WEM went out of business or that Tom's acquired the product line? WEM went under because, as with so many vendors, there just aren't enough people in the hobby to make a living wage and keep a company doing the work of generating and selling the products. In this case, someone (Tom's ModelWorks) stepped in to take on the molds etc. to keep the WEM products going for model builders.
