    Dear Mr. or Ms. benben,

    Your

    Dear Mr. or Ms. benben,

Your query, broadcast to the world, rather than a note to the person of importance, reviels that your primary quest is not for information. Rather, it is for public pressure upon your supposed agreever.

This tatic works some times with big organizations. It has no impact upon the self-employed, busy artizen. I would suggest that a personal letter to Mr. Merrimann is your best path. Else, you could go to WallMart and take a number.

Sir or Mrs./Ms. benben, I do not scolf at your query. Anticapation is difficult to endure as any child knows before Christmas. And as we all know, frustration does breed anger. Therefore, I would suggest that patience is the order today.

The Europeans describe Dave’s WTCs as ‘tubberware’. What an odd attempt at a putdown. I ask you, how many food containers do you have in your kitchen of French or German origin? One would assume that they do not know how to make an affordable component!

Sir or Madam or Miss, may your wait be short, your joy be great and may you share your joy with all.

    Sincerely,
    Art Meyer

      Just a word for Dave....

Just a word for Dave.... I ordered my WTC and got it within three weeks. I'm sure as hobby modellers, we can all relate to someone trying to put out a product in their free time.

He always replies to my e-mails promtly, and is very forthcoming with advice and info.

This is, of course, just my experience with him.

        let me add my 2

let me add my 2 cents here as well...
It seems as though everyone nowadays expects that since they sent an email to someone, they're going to get an email response back immediately from the recipient...

I don't know the number of times I've seen someone post something out here that starts "I sent an email to X and they haven't answered..."

I would suggest that one pick up the phone and call "X" and speak to them directly, or send a paper correspondence to that person... I would wager that a lot of vendors don't or can't immediately reply to every electronic message, and that some of them may actually be filtered and deleted unintentionally by the vendor's software...

Please don't get me wrong; I'm not picking on the person posting this at all...this happened to be a convenient place to reinforce the notion that there's nothing better than a phone call or a voice message as a follow up to an email inquiry.

            I think most of us

I think most of us are understanding when a vendor is up front from the beginning and let us know their delivery will be slow. Dave has always told me if there is going to be a delay in shipping.

              you have done all the

              kd6hq-
you have done all the things I was suggesting...my point was that lots of people only seem to place an order, then when their merchandise doesn't arrive in what they deem a reasonable amount of time, they fire off an email, and then post something on these boards (where a vendor may or may not even be looking..)

my observation is that if you just sent a few hundred dollar (or more) order off to a vendor, isn't it worth a buck or so to call the person to see what's up?

Additionally, I know some of the vendors bend over backwards, way more than they should have to, in order to satisfy some of their customers...these same "customers" would think nothing of sending flame after flame emails, or calling the vendor repeatedly to complain or b**ch, even when the vendor has met his obligations.

Sorry, this has always been a sore point for me, especially for many years when I used to talk to many of these vendors while trying to get advertising from them. Fact is, there aren't that many of them left.

                  To answer the original question,

To answer the original question, "how long does it take"? In my case not that long. When I first inquired about price/availability (via e-mail) I didn't get a quick response. *But* when I called, I spoke with Ellie, and she immediately answered all of my questions in a most professional manner.

I sent off my check, and a little over 2 weeks went by, and it didn't clear the bank, so I called and spoke with Ellie again to make sure that my order arrived. She found my check, and told me that she would process the order immediately. I found myself in posession of a WTC 3.5 (and some other goodies) today, less than 2 weeks later.

The lesson I learned? Skip the e-mail and call. Fantastic service, I would not hesitate to recommend doing business with D&E.

Sorry to belabor the point, but I think that good service needs to be recognized as well.

For your information, I emailed D&E and never got any reply so I call them and they always say they are working on it and it will be sent next week. It would be nicer if they can tell me a more precise time.
And relax guys. All I asked was how long the wait is. I don't see any point in jumping all over me

My apologies if it seemed like I was jumping on you benben. Not my point at all. Just relaying my experience, for what it's worth, and trying to thank a vendor for good service.

                      Best regards,
