There is a company, Gog.com, that has been updating classic games of yesteryear so that they run on modern platforms, such as
Vista and Windows 7, 8. They are having a sale this weekend on the old Silent Service II Game (with which I sank tons of shipping in the early 1990's).
In this game, you have command of a US Fleet Boat in the Pacific.
This weekend, the game is $2.99 (Wait, he must have typed that wrong-Nope!!! $2.99!!!).
Here's the link: http://www.gog.com
Thanks to my son Jeff for pointing this out. It was one of his favorites growing up as well. In fact, now he is part owner of an iPad gaming company making serious strategy military games (no submarine ones yet….but wait)
