    Re: Back Issues

    Tom,

I sent you a Dropbox invite. It's the one the SCR staff uses, so you should be part of the group too!

Thanks guys! As soon as I get the hard copy I will scan it and post it.
        Peace,
        Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

          Re: Back Issues

Okay, issue 65 is up in the back issue library thanks to Andy. The file size is pretty large. I tried to reduce it in Acrobat but the quality degraded so poorly I uploaded the original version. It looks great, just be patient. Thanks again, Andy! One down, three to go.
          Warm regards,

Tom, would you like to do 78? Then we have a full house.
Which Tom? There are two of us. I am uploading SCR64 onto Dropbox as I type this.

              Re: Back Issues

OK, my scanner converts the scans into one unified PDF but it is way too big. Even Dropbox would not allow me to upload it at 367,000 Kbs (367 Mbs). Any quick ideas on how to reduce the file size?

If you have acrobat you can reduce the file size of the pdf. Otherwise I'm not sure.

I believe he was asking Tom (Salmon) to do #78.

Sorry, I only have Adobe Reader, not Acrobat.

                    Folks,

I downloaded issue #65, which is very large. (300MB?) I then ran it through Acrobat Pro to create a reduced size version which resulted in a 10.2MB file with what I think are very acceptable results. I've asked Paul to take a look to see if he agrees. If he does, then we have a way to get these file sizes down to something acceptable.

                      Re: Back Issues

The file came to 137MB at my end. Agreed quite large, but I wanted to maximize the quality, so scanned at maximum resolution and unfortunately the conversion is done by the scanner, and I don't have the software to play about with PDF's.

The issues showed up today. I will scan issue 78 tomorrow and I do have Adobe Acrobat to play with optimizing the file size. Paul, I will contact you as far as up loading once it is done.
                        Peace,

Behold! The Gods of Dropbox have deigned to look favorably upon me! They have accepted my offering of a 365 Mb SCR 64 file, whereas before they rejected me and sent me away to make sacrifices to the all powerful Intel, Guardian of Processing.

Okay, if you guys can reduce the file size and post it, that should take care of SCR 64.

                              Re: Back Issues

I just noticed that Issue 53 has a big chunk (13 pages) missing from the beginning of that issue. We should probably check the other issues to see if we need to backfill any major missing pages.
