Torpedoe Size Information Help

Hello

To ALL the membership. Could someone tell me what would be the size of a WWII British Torpedoe, U.S Torpedoe and a German Torpedoe that would have been launched from the various countries P.T Boats of that period in 1/35 scale, I just need the outside dimensions in 1/35 Please. If you have any pictures, that would be great as well. Would like to have some possible working scale like torpedoes for my 1/35 Italerie S-100, Vosper etc. boats.

the german wwII torpedoes were 21 in (533.4mm) x 282 in (7163mm)
American torpedoes 21 in (530 mm) x 246 in (6250 mm)
British torpedoes 17 in (450 mm) × 207 in (5260 mm)

so 1/35 would be (roughly)

G (15mm) x (204mm) or 0.6 in x 8 in
A (15mm) x (178mm) or 0.6 in x 7 in
B (12mm) x (150mm) or 0.5 in x 6 in

....so for US PT boats, the Mark VIII 21-inch torpedo was the original type carried. These were generally replaced in mid-1943 with the Mark XIII Navy aerial torpedo using simpler roll-off racks in place of the original, heavy tubes. The Mark XIII was 22.5-inches in diameter and 13 feet 5 inches in length.

Divide these numbers by 35 to get your desired scale sizes.

Years ago I built a spread sheet in Lotus 123 to use for scaling frames and other items as I scratch build.

A few years ago, I built the same spread sheet in Microsoft Excel.

If you run Excel, you can download the simple to use spread sheet from My GW sub picture page.

It's near the top of the page in a green box.

In fact if anyone finds this little spread sheet useful, you're welcome to it. Easy to use and easy to modify.
