    Jim,

I'm not aware of an active group, but Steve Neil (forum name U812) has been trying to get one started....

Yup, getting something going in So.Cal. has long been on my to-do list. I'll get there eventually. Steve and I have talked of this, actually. First order of biz would be to find a good running venue. So far no luck with this. (Know of a few BAD ones, however!)

You KNOW I'm gonna be there. Always am. But lest there be any confusion, the dates for this year's West Coast Fall Fun Run at the Golden Gate Park Casting Ponds are Sat. and Sun., Oct. 20 and 21. Hope to see YOU there.

I would love to go to San Fransico, but I can only drive for an hour and I start to fall asleep, the Meds I take are strong and I would not want to hurt any one. I live in Mission Viejo, and I have been eying a small Lake In Rancho Santa Margarita, also 3 mile park and there is a lake in Irvine that I see sail boats all the time, so if any one in this area would like to go to a park and meet I would be interested., or if you have a lake that you use I would be willing to go if its not motr than a hour away.

I'm always volunteering to pick up anyone interested in flying into Oakland Airport and shuttling them to the regatta.

                      Jim,
I've seen a newspaper photo of that sailboat pond in Irvine you're talking about. It's one of the spots I've been meaning to look into, though I have heard it's too murky for our use. Please recon the venue sometime and prove me wrong! Also, I'm not familiar with the "Three Mile Park" lake you mentioned, so check that out for accessibility and water quality too when you get a chance and let us know here. Someday soon we'll get something going.

                      Giovanni,
See you at the Fun Run!

I may have got the name wrong its Square mile park, I beleive its in Garden Grove, or close to there Its been years scince I have been there, as I live south of there. with the price of gas right now , driveing is only for needed items, but there are 3 lakes near me, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo , and Santa Maragerita. I know Mission Viejo is deep and also you have to have a membership to get in, as Lake Forest. Rancho is public with a beach, but I would have to look at the water. I will look at goggle earth and see whats in the area.

Santa Margarita is a gorgeous lake.
I was there in 1971 when it was flooding everywhere. There were waterfalls all around the lake that day. It flooded downtown San Luis Obispo later that day. It poured down rain for 30 days and nights.
                            Regards,
                            Giovanni

                              Hi Jim,
I'm not picking on you, but in New Zealand our gas is $2.20 a litre 4 of those to your Gallon, and our wage is about the same as yours.Your gas is cheep but you have to drive longer to get any where. I've been over 5 times and I love the States.
                              Regards Graeme,
