          Excellent!

If you're using Firefox browser, there's a great free add-on called 'DownloadThemall', which automates the process of downloading all the PDF files to a folder of your choice on your 'puter. Much easier than right click and save for over eighty files.

Don't know if similar things are available on other browsers, but thought I'd mention it.

              Andy,

Those issues are being prepared for scanning. They will be put up as soon as scanning and formatting is complete.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I just discovered this thread today. I've got DownLoadItNow working even as I type.

For the last few years I've promised myself that I would buy those two $100 CD's or DVD's that had all the back issues. But when it came time something else would need that money.

So not only do I say, "Thank you!", but my wife says, "Thank you!"

This is kind of like landing on Mars. We have heard about it for so long dreamt of going there.
Now we have landed and are recieving back the signals and images. Lets take it for a ride.

Thanks guys for all the hard work.

Thank you for this new feature! You guys ROCK!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Re: On Line Subcommittee Back Issues

They really are interesting to go through. You can see all the hard work guys did to get the organization and the magazine off the ground, the different logos considered before the final design was chosen, etc. Plus you can see the evolution of submarine modeling over the last two decades. Fun stuff.

Please check SCR-57, I believe it is corrupted.
As noted before SCR-64 through SCR-70 will be uploaded later.
I also saw SCR-78 missing - maybe same as SCR-64-70
If any others have a problem I will edit this page.
                          Peace,
                          Tom

Re: On Line Subcommittee Back Issues

I'm gradually going through them. The page numbering is out of whack on issue 8. The documents are locked which makes editing tricky, there are ways around this, but it's a lot easier with an unlocked document.

                              Guys,

Thanks for the heads up on these issues. We are aware that there are formatting issues that need to be addressed. At this point we opted to go ahead and put the issues out there for you to enjoy as they are rather than have everyone continue to wait. Being very limited with internal resources, we will fix these as time permits and re-release them when they are completed. Thanks for your continued patience with us as we work through these issues.

                              Best,

                              Matt

Re: On Line Subcommittee Back Issues

I don't mind sorting that out, but I need access to edit the document.

I'm also going to make a start on indexing these issues. There's absolutely tons of information stuffed in this back catalogue, and a simple reference as to where to find what would be highly beneficial to all concerned I think.

Although interesting to see how much has changed over the years in this hobby, it's also worth noting how much hasn't. Electronics and batteries have moved on by a quantum leap, and we're totally spoilt for choice, but mechanically the same issues and solutions remain, and I would say generally, it's the mechanical problems that cause the most head scratching for newcomers to the hobby. Most electronics items are with the odd exception, plug and play these days, no need to wield the soldering iron to make a failsafe or a leveller, and setting them up is a straightforward matter.
