Info on Scale shipyard Gato/Balao

Hi all,

Looking for information on

Quality and if the hulls are 100% Accurate

Looking at the 1/48 scale Gato and or Balao.... Unless somone know's of a 32nd para Balao hull going about???

I have never owned one but have seen several -- both built and unbuilt. The quality is fine, they are solidly built. Are they "100% accurate"? No. They are a good representation which can be made considerably more accurate with a lot of extra work. Scratchbuilding is a major part of working up a hull kit. Many of our members have built fine boats from this hull.

The 32nd Parallel Gatos, one of which I did own, are even less accurate. And extraordinarily impractical.
