Miss the hobby and you guys

I have been absent to say the least. My wife has come down with two types of cancer as if one was not enough. Both she is slowly beating but at a pretty high cost. This is the second time we have been through this and it doesn't get any easier.

I still have my boats but I got rid of most of the really small boats and kept the Gato, 1/32 type 7, retired my Seaview and I'm slowly finishing the running gear in my 66 inch Nautilus.

I have been so busy with customer builds of everything from Star Trek props to large lighted star ship models. In addition I am making space suits and props-models for the new movie series caller" Space Command". All this has kept me rather busy. I'm also care taker of the house until my wife gets better.

I no longer participate in any forums anymore except this one. Most of my work can be kept up with on my Blog: www.steveneill.wordpress.com

What I really miss the most is sitting on the lake and running a boat with friends but in LA I'm am strictly alone it would seem. I do get together with Horrible Harry on occasion but it's never frequent enough.

I just wanted to say hi and tell you I miss you all very much. I'll try to check in more often. Soon the big Nautilus will be in it's trials and I'll post it here.

    All the best you guys!

I miss you and your contribution to our hobby, but you have your priorities straight! You are in my prayers.
      Peace,
      Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

You know you always have friends here Steve.
I wish we could run subs together.
I just got to run with the best bunch of guys you can imagine at the Carmel regatta.
I only get to see them once or twice a year but it is more like a family reunion than a regatta.
        Bubbleheads ROCK!!!
BTW- I check out your work on your blog and it is still amazing!!
        Hang in there. BD.

          Hi Steve,

Miss seeing you here; but I am following your blogs. My favorite was the mold making and then the pouring up
of the Space Command ship. Get you a big floor fan to move some air in the sweat shop(garage). I hate to see
          you sweating all the time.

I will keep your wife and you in the prayers.

          Scott T

            Steve,
Best wishes for you and your wife. Beating cancer is a tough haul, but with your support she can hang in there and succeed. You have your priorities correct. I hope we see you back here frequently when she recovers!
All the best to you both!
