      Hi Scott T

Thanks for Posting these and the extra pics. Anyone else have some pics? What about from the movie the Abyss, the small subs the actors used in that movie. Anyone have anything similar they would like to share some pictures of?

      Thanks Again For Sharing.

Re: Any Research Subs Out There

I have a large collection of images of submersibles I've collected over the years.

            I've posted them here- http://photobucket.com/submersibles72

There are some drawings tucked away in amongst all that lot, but in general, information on civilian and research craft is more difficult to find than military boats. Perhaps this is the reason they're not quite so popular with modellers?

The easiest type of boats to model would be those based on cylinders, as opposed to teardrop shaped boats like Alvin, Turtle etc. ABS Elliptical and hemispherical end caps are available to purchase from EMA model supplies, which with the equivalent diameter tubing should enable you to construct most of the hull components from pre-moulded items, greatly simplifying any build, and the cost should be very reasonable.

            http://www.ema-models.co.uk/index.php/a ... tings.html

Don't know much about the boats fetaured in the Abyss. Good link with info here- http://www.therpf.com/f10/abyss-submers ... ct-129858/

Unless you want to get involved with mouldmaking, I would give those designs a miss.

              Hello Sub culture

Just been to the links and your picture samples. Thank you, I now have plenty to go through and pick something to try to build.

              Thanks for the ideas.

Still anyone with other pictures please post them here.

              Thanks Again.
