Question On Engel VIIc

Good day all I am new to this site as well as submarines. I was able to pick up this kit unstarted at a good price, but here is my problem: Whie I am waiting on shipping, 2 weeks UPS I dowmloaded the instructions and it says the recevier should be no bigger than 55x23x15 mm and my 8 channnel radio recevier is 63x26x24 mm am I going to be ablle to find a place in the WTC to install this with all radios going to 2.6 ghz , Fm radios are hard to come by. Am I in trouble or is this going to work. Thank you for the help.

I am purchasing a new radio and receiver from here: http://www.caswellplating.com/models/transmitter.html
My very old Futaba is AM signal (the frequency is correct 75MHz) and the new receivers will not recognize the AM signal. So I wanted to update and I will use my old TX and RX for my son to play with.
