    I just spoke with Larry

I just spoke with Larry about this kit....his distributor screwed up; the model is not yet in Larry's hands, but will be shortly. I just ordered one...he's already sold 8 others, and has ordered another 24. He would not be surprised if those were gone by the weekend. If you want one of these kits, order it NOW from this gentleman. He'll ship it ASAP, and he told me that if the SubCommittee was interested in a bulk order of this or any combo of models, he could help us out price wise. Larry sounds like a really good contact for any of your plastic model needs...he's got lots of stock, and ships worldwide. I even asked about <gasp> aircraft models- he's got the Trumpeter Spitfire in 1/24 (about 50 of them...) and many others. BTW, he personally thinks that the 21.95 price has gotta be a mistake, but says Revell will have to honor it!!

    Hope this all helps,
    Sam

I think the price will be about $60 to $70.
It should be available in November not before.

I just heard from Larry - he says that all 32 (8+24) are on backorder and he may not get them for quite some time. He also mentioned that there would be a shipping / UPS charge.

He reiterated that if our group (or your local SubRon) wanted to go together and do a quantity buy, he could "Really take care of" us.

See Larry's website at L&J Hobby on line shopping

An interesting proposition for the subcommittee. There are a lot of us,when put together. There probably is not a huge markup in the model, but, what the heck? Can we work a deal? How?
My main interest is in the russian boats, but that would look fine as a static display on my rolltop desk. I would make an exception in this case.
I am sure there are minds out there already thinking about upgrade kits. The photoetched deck, fittings, brass props, shafts, and even....r/c conversion stuff.
I will state the obvious. This looks like an excellent entry level boat to convert.
Would like to see feedback and thoughts on that.
