    2011 What's on your workbench???

I have been lazy the last couple of years. I have a couple of projects to work on but family and other obligations have taken me away. No More!!!
    1) Fix cracked turtleback of my 32nd P Type XXIII.
    2) Work on Argonaut Jr. model. So far hull is cut out and portholes are done. Still need frames etc.

    How about you???!!!!

    working sonar.

ultimately build into my ever-under-construction CB hull.
it should be imaging (and requires ship-to-shore transmission via the CB periscope).
currently a side scan sonar seems feasible. It should be a bit more capable than a simple
    fishfinder.

it is a bloody interesting subject to waste a few hours on.
However, I might be tempted to build a surface vessel as
    an experimentation platform first.

I have been lazy also, matter of fact so lazy and busy that I contracted another ship yard to do some of the more complex work on the WTC and front dive plane retract mechanism. But the good news is I am shooting for a launch date in the early spring for the much talked about Thor Type XXI.Oh bye the way,I think that all my parts have arrived at the yard,I hope.

Subcontract!!! This is a major rebuild of a really screwed up WTC. As for the dive planes retract drive, I do not take credit as I used Kevin Mcloud's design, just modified it to fit ...... If this thing works, it will be a miracle. We should know by Friday.

Careful there Frank - I've never heard anything good said about that Kevin Mcloud guy. On the other hand, Kevin McLeod's bowplane design is still going strong after 5 years in the water!

As for me, I'm deeply embroiled in a rocket-science experiment whose end goal is still to add operable cruise missiles to my OSCAR. My daughter's decided that this sub stuff is pretty fun and now wants a boat of her own so I've also been trying to figure out what we can make for her.

              Hey!
I have heard rumors of the KevinMc guy!!
One should steer clear of him for sure!!
Unless he is harboring a secret stash of BUTTER TARTS!!
Then let the tropedos fly and take no prisoners!! BD.

Frank, does this mean if the retract mechanism doesn`t work that we can blame Kevin Maybe we can get a few more people involed in this if we try hard enough!

                  Kevin,
Sorry for the typo. The retract planes are installed and the hull is on it's way back to PA. Photos will follow. It is adjustable in all directions and compact in size. All parts are made from hobby shop items, nothing really fancy-- Kevin designs for ease of use and reliable usage. The hardist part to figure out was the clearence issue on the top of the ball links. Silver soldered a stainless set screw to the ball---WHAM smack in the head.
