Just want to get this right...

I wonder if any of you guys can answer me a question...

I'm having a name plaque made up for the Dragonfish's stand, and I'm wondering how to arrange the letters and numbers correctly (bear in mind that the boat's name and number would be completely fictional because as a concept boat she was never built)

Would it be:

US-SSN 996 Dragonfish
USS-SN 996 Dragonfish

Would she have carried a letter C in her name...ie, US-SSN(C)996 Dragonfish? The letter C designating a Concept vessel...

The correct designation would be,
USS Dragonfish SSN 996
I don't believe there would be a "C" designation used in her name but you just never know.

Your welcome. I meant to add earlier that your kit bash is really cool. I'm curious how well it will behave in the water. I expect fairly well, after all the Russians have used similar sail configurations.

Well, thank you sir...we shall soon find out, the painted hull/deck should be back tomorrow, than as soon as the water becomes liquid again I can go sailing.

Don, hit it right on, just as an addition to that info, when they were designing and developing the Virginia Class of submarines, before they chose Virginia as they namesake, they refered to the class as the NSSN or New Submarine Ship Nuclear. You could go with something like USS Dragonfish CSSN-996.
