    Hello,

Just a quick note. We are developing a 2.5 WTC for the 1/96
Skate which may be suitable for the new Revell Type VII.
I have a Type VII on order from my local hobby shop and
will do some tests when it arrives.

      I noticed the board died

I noticed the board died off on the conversion to r/c of the Revell Type VII. Looks like it is not as easy as it first looked...
Has anyone been successful in pulling off a conversion? I saw only one at the Regatta that was in the beginning stages.
I am currently working on another project, but have a Revell kit waiting for later and I have been watching with interest.
      Anyone,anyone???
      Sucesses,failures?

            I had heard of that

I had heard of that conversion. I was wondering if anybody stateside was sucessful. Mr. Manley was close, from what I understand.Has anyone gotten close or successful with a system other than having to look overseas?

              Wayne, I am getting one

Wayne, I am getting one of Bruggen's conversion kits. It'll probably be the better part of a month before it arrives and hopefully by then I'll have time to actually WORK ON MY OWN PROJECTS.

I know some pretty explicit pics of his work have already circulated here, but I'll do some pics and a partial review on my site too. I'm of course looking to extol the virtues of the brass deck.

I heard there was another guy stateside working on it, but I'll let him speak for himself in case he's no longer pursuing it.

                  Hi Wayne, I have just

Hi Wayne, I have just finished the design work, and am 50% through the construction of my WTC for the type V11C.
I am using a through the hull approach. I did not want to cut the hull. My cylinder fit's through the deck opening and easily assembles inside the sub. It has twin motors with 6/1 gear drives, RCABS ballast system, front and rear planes. I am also using surplus Lithum Ion batteries like I use in my Kilo. So far it all works (He says with crossed fingers). I will put up some photos when I get it fully installed. I have to tell you, I thought the Kilo WTC was small at 2.25 OD, this one at 2.0 OD is a real challenge. But that's what makes it fun. Dave.

Good meeting you at the Sub Ron by the way.

                      Wayne

                      I have mine working to

                      Wayne

I have mine working to the point, I ran out of funding due to being out of work, now I'm back and I do haave the parts to get this thing finished, I will have this thing running in the water by the end of this coming weekend.

Last night I had it all together working, rudder control, forward diving planes and motor turning. my WTC is about 2.25 or 2.0
and it does fit snugly but I now have the balance where I wanted it
I just need one solid day of working on the rest of the WTC and I'm ready to hit the pool for testing.

video will be shot when I do this.

                      Mark

                      P.S.

single engine feeding twin shafts by GB!
forward diving plans work and rudders, speed controls.
mostly a wet system. my other boat that I am saving will be done different since I now know what I'm getting into.
the main thing I will change the next time around is the power train, twin engines would be lighter and maybe my rudder linkage since it's the same setup as my bigger boats. they work but an dI use a large BUT, it's cramped back there so I do have an idea that the second "Improved" boat will have..

                      VII-CI heheheh
