    Nice pic's!

I've got one tiny Q, you might laugh, but I gotta ask....
The tooth'ed thing on the bow, and the same tooth'ed "jaw" on the lower side of the bow... what are they for? I've seen them before on similar subs, but surely they are not for ramming?? I can't imagine a subber ramming on purpose...think of the risks...

If I'm not mistaken, they are net cutters.

        The teeth are a holdover

The teeth are a holdover from the WWI U-Boat used as a net cutter. Many harbor areas had submarine nets to prohibit a submarine from entering the area. The net cutter didn't work real well, that's why they were eliminated early on during WW2....

          How long do you figure

How long do you figure it will take before an after market kit it made to change this into an R/C sub. I wonder if Dave Manleys wtc 2.75 will fit this new kit?

                  It'll be available in November

It'll be available in November in Europe. Expect it to take a little more time to reach the US. The exact amount of time depends on how well it sells in europe.. I've heard that their 1/72 Schnellboot sold so well that it wasn't until the third production run that the US got any.

A 1/72nd sub probably won't sell that much, but it still could be delayed.

I ordered it at a modelshop here in the Netherlands. Of course I'll have to wait for it to come out. Price is expected to be around E75,-. Not bad I think.

                            I have a note on

I have a note on this in one of the other forums. There is a photo etch kit available. I forget who--Blue Water Navy or White Ensign Models something something. Search the ship model forum at hyperscale.com. Do a search for "Type VII Revell" and it will come up. Or do a search here, of course.

Looking forward to reports about the kit....
