    Japanese super subs of WW2

    Here is a video from National Geographic on Youtube about the Japanese efforts in the latter days of ww2.. They came up with the I-201 Sentaka class. Faster and more endurance than the German type 21, it was ahead of its time. Unfortunately it was studied and then sunk to keep the Russians from getting a look at it.

        That does not surprise me. I caught the tail end of a National Geographic show about looking for the I-401 and sitting very close to the wreck was a I-201. Very fast boat. Interesting to me was how the deck guns went below the deck level for submerged running.
