The problem with most submarine pictures is that most of the boat is underwater and you can only see whats showing.

The Japanese OYASHIO class diesel electric submarine "MOCHISHIO" commisioned in March of 08. At 268 ft. they say that they are the largest "modern" SSKs in service.
