Re: Awesome sub pictures
To All,
These are truly some awesome submarine pictures. It's just that I can't believe that I'm the only sitting in front of my computer monitor screaming,
"WHY DON'T THEY IDENTIFY THE $#@$^%$@ SUBMARINES!!!"
or is this just another thread for , "Let's play a game?"

Re: Awesome sub pictures
Dan, Im sorry, I have been remiss in that area. However, some of the pictures I have no clue what it is because the website that its gathered from either doesnt list what its from or its just out and out wrong. I will try from now on to make a note. If there are any specific ones let me know.

Yes , I believe that you are correct. In fact I am amazed at all the variations of the Yankee class. You have Yankee 1 and 2 variants, Yankee notch, yankee sidecar, Yankee SSN, Yankee pod, Yankee stretch and Yankee big nose. The Russians were a busy bunch.

Re: Awesome sub pictures
The part that's missing from the sail of that OSCAR is the emergency escape module. Could be building, could be servicing?
I gotta say, as far as dry dock photos of the OSCAR go I love this one. I don't recall how I came to find it originally, but when I was trying to figure out the exact shape and mechanics behind how the outer torpedo tube doors operate this photo gave me most of the answers. (And some pretty good details on what the inside of the doors looked like too!)Kevin McLeod - OSCAR II driver
