    L.A. Visit RE: Submarines

    Hello Fellow Deepwater Fellows:
I'll be visiting the Los Angeles area soon. Does anyone have a recommendation on what to visit which is submarine related? Anyone know of a good Hobby Shop that carries a good selection of larger scale Submarine models, plastic or other? Any Regatta's, or places where they may operate R/C subs on a daily basis, etc?
    Any help?
    Thanks, Jeff

    Re: L.A. Visit RE: Submarines

Jeff, The quick answer would be " There is no such place" In the greater L.A. area. In Riverside County, there are two regatta's a year, one in the Spring and one in the fall. If were lucky we may get two or three Subs running there. If we can get two or three of the guys together at Orange County's Cerricos Park for a run, that's a major event. We might be able to do this five or six times a year. There are no regatta's in L.A. at present. The next big model Sub event in Calif. will most likely be in San Francisco at Golden Gate Park, fly fishing ponds in late Sept. (a great place to run) You might wish to give Tom Anderson a call as to the dates, (707) 746-6919 If your going to be in the area then. Most of our Sub modeling parts comes Via mail order. There are no longer any hobby shops in our area that has R/C Subs or sub parts, that I'm aware of. Best Wishes on your travels
