    Silent Hunter 5

Is one huge cut above the old versions of this Subsim.

I used Fraps and the game engine to generate this short clip.

And here's one of my favorite frame grabs from my career as a U-boat captain. I've sunk 2 DDs and 24 Merchants so far.

    Re: Silent Hunter 5

I enjoy being inside my VIIC and having a career. A lot of people say to me I don't play video games. But this really isn't a game. It's a simulation of WW2 history and you are the captain. You are given missions to complete. And the more you complete them the better things get.

I just got a new boat and a new tower. No to mention the camo paint jog I picked out.

Well I guess it's time to upgrade from SH4 .What are the system requirements? Will windows XP work? Great graphics. I love the way you can walk through the boat. I've lost track of the time many a night on patrol. this isn't gonna help. Gimmee Gimmee!!! Ted

Unfortunately I didn't capture the torpedo room but you can walk anywhere on the boat inside and out.

I'm using a quad core with Intel 2.66 and 8 gigs of ram. The graphics card is a Radeon HD 5770 which has a gig of dedicated memory on the card. Over kill but great.

Whatever happened to tthe US Fleet Submarine version of this game?
You know, the one about the guys who succeeded in doing to Japan what the U-boats failed to do to England?

                Re: Silent Hunter 5

There was more demand from the Subsim community for the Atlantic Wolf Pack. Given time there will be an add on for the Fleet boats although I myself prefer the U-boats. Just a personal preference Tom. Although I have a fleet boat my 1/32 VIIC is my favorite.

There were many complaints when the Fleet Boat version came out and later on they had a 9 dollar add on for the U-boats that worked well.

The thing about this Subsim is it is peak in graphics realism like never before. Not to mention you can walk the entire boat. Climb up the tower and go down through the hatch. Even open and close the hatches. Take a nap in the Captains rack.

My latest video. This is just another test but the image quality is pretty good now. Smooth. Few skips. When I get some time I'll make a little short movie.

The kills you see at the end are from in game when I nailed 3 DDs in a German Harbor. Good day for me.

Tom it had a typo in the titles. I'm uploading it again now. But since it's in HD full screen this time it's taking awhile.

Steve those shots make great screen savers.
have to get the game now.
