Type XXIII

Hello.
I have seen a few of the type XXIII boats that have a yellow/orange band painted around the top portion of the tower, was under the impression that this was just for boats undergoing shake down training not front line boats? Or is there another meaning? Keith

You are correct. The yellow band that was painted across the tower was for when those boats were assigned to a training flotilla.
