Gato's Twin Propellers Rotation

On the Gato, do the twin propellers rotate in toward the centerline of the hull or, do they rotate out from the center of the hull?

Does it really make a difference which way the twin propellers rotate?

The Gato has one large rudder located on the centerline, and the Type VII has two rudders, each one behind a propeller. Is twin propeller rotation different when there is only one rudder than if there are two rudders?

I have looked at various Gato plan sheets and the Floating Dry Dock Gato plan book and no where does it indicate the propellers rotation?

the tops of the props

the tops of the props should be going out from the hull. My Type II has the rudder in the center and I had them going the wrong way, then swithced them and the rudder has more authority.
